Inspiration for your holidays!

We, at Bangalore Writers Workshop, wish you the happiest holiday season and a spectacular New Year. May you experience love, laughter, and the spirit of giving in the days and months to come.

Writers, while you enjoy those multiple glasses of wine, the friendly banter between friends and family, even that mass in church, remember to acknowledge your writer self. Breathe. Observe.

Feel the intricacies. The cold on your skin, the Christmas star that attracts night moths, the taste of raisins soaked in rum? Try your hand at sensory writing now.

Do you want to write an emotional saga instead? Seek inspiration in the flighty conversations amongst family, their smiles, and their tears.

Or get philosophical. Think about the year that has past. Don’t be afraid to touch the demons you struggled with. Definitely remember the highs and the subtleties that you didn’t have time to dissemble. What did you learn? Write.

Writers we are in training. We always are. We must bring pain, joy, contradiction, irony, humor, and potent emotion to our pages. 2012 is most surely going to fill pages. At BWW, we make sure your art is celebrated and taken seriously. We are the voice of your conscience that won’t let you get tempted to just sit back and enjoy the holidays. So don’t shut down that laptop yet, or put away that pen in a hurry.

This festive season, seek new inspiration while you celebrate. And celebrate your writing. It will make you more festive, you will see. 🙂

Share what inspired you this Christmas. Leave us a comment.

Stay inspired! Merry Christmas!
